Vote for Special Education and other Non-Profits to win $25K Vote by Dec. 11 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time
Please vote for special education organizations to win $25K. Chase Bank is giving away $25K to 100 non-profits via Facebook. PLEASE vote for International Dyslexia Association, Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, National Autism Association, Forward Edge International (foreign missions and orphanage assistance), CHADD, Inc. (attention deficit support group) and others you like. You can vote for 20 different non-profits.
Vote for national organizations rather than local ones which would be hard pressed to get enough votes to win.
PLEASE notify all your friends & associates!! I'd love it if you could forward names of the organizations I'm asking you to vote for. Feel free to link them to this page for more information. Email those who don't have Facebook and ask them to join Facebook long enough to vote, and then cancel their account if they don't want to keep it! More on how to vote is below:
From the Chase Bank's Facebook FAQ:
What is Chase Community Giving? Chase Community Giving is a program run by Chase that will allow Facebook users to vote for local charities and non-profits, and help direct Chase corporate philanthropy dollars to eligible organizations in the following focus areas: education, healthcare, housing, the environment, combating hunger, arts and culture, human services, and animal welfare. The grassroots campaign aims to inspire a new way of corporate philanthropy.
The eligible charity receiving the most votes will be awarded $1 million, the top five runners-up will receive $100,000 each and the 100 finalists, including the top winners, will be awarded $25,000 each. Additionally, a special Advisory Board led by prominent national philanthropists will allocate $1 million to the nominated charities of its choice. How long does the program run?
Chase will use Facebook to allow participants of the Chase Community Giving program to select local causes and organizations in need of support focused on the issues that matter most, enabling those organizations to make further tangible progress toward their missions. Voting for Round 1 ends December 11 [at 11:59p.m. Eastern]. Voting for Round 2 ends January 22, 2010 and the top charities will be announced on or around February 1.
============== How to vote: ============== First, go to Facebook.com and join. Then, From your facebook home page, you can cut and paste in this link. http://www.facebook.com/ChaseCommunityGiving?v=app_162065369655&src=ad2_43006944_220213025#/ChaseCommunityGiving?v=info
1. Then click "become a fan."
2 . Then click on Chase Giving.
3. Then enter the full name of the organization and click "go."
4. When I tried to vote, a couple of times it froze. If your "go" button doesn't work (mine did not), then click at the heading that says "Charity Search" and you'll get another box to enter the organization's name. After about a minute, the organization name should appear. If not, then that name is probably not an option for voting. Not all nonprofits are available, and I'm not sure of their criteria for selection.
